Color by Numbers Birthday Cupcake

This Color by Numbers Birthday Cupcake can be used as a simple reinforcement activity. Provide a target word or words, and ask the child to produce it 1, 2, 3… times before they color in (or fill in with a dauber/cover with chips) the sprinkles on the cupcake with the corresponding color.
 
Use the Color by Numbers Cupcake to teach and reinforce the basic preschool concepts of colors or to introduce/reinforce birthday vocabulary.
 
For older children, ask them to find and correctly say 1, 2, 3… words that include their target sound around the room (or to think of them themselves) before they color.
 
You can also use this activity to reinforce language concepts. Have children produce 1, 2, or 3... items within a category or to answer questions about birthdays, parties, desserts, etc.
